GW 0742 is a PPARUβ/δ agonist that has been dubbed a “super cardarine”.Studies have shown that GW 0742 improves blood glucose homeostasis and increases insulin sensitivity in diabetic rats. In diabetic rats fed a high fructose diet, the group that took GW 0742 had lower blood glucose compared to the control group.
Because GW 0742 is a PPAR agonist, it shows potential to increase fat loss by boosting metabolism and stimulating the utilization of fat as fuel.
This may increase muscle oxidative capacity, helping to burn more calories.
GW 0742 vs Cardarine
GW 0742 and Cardarine are PPAR (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) agonists.Both drugs were originally developed by GlaxoSmithKline. Animal studies have shown that both drugs can improve insulin resistance in study subjects. They are also thought to potentially stimulate fatty acid oxidation (lower fatty acid levels) in animals.

GW 0742 and Metabolism
A study was conducted to investigate whether PPARβ/δ agonist treatment would improve exercise-induced immunometabolic changes in diet-induced obese mice. Results showed increased fatty acid oxidation gene expression and AMPK activity.These effects were associated with decreased visceral adipose tissue mass (burning fat) and decreased skeletal muscle inflammation, as well as increased skeletal muscle oxidative capacity and insulin sensitivity.
